Smash Burgers with Wedges

Thin, crispy-edged beef patties in buns with cheese, lettuce and tomato, served with oven-baked potato wedges.

METHOD

  1. 1Cut the potatoes into wedges, toss with oil, paprika, garlic powder and salt.
  2. 2Bake the wedges at 200°C for 30 minutes until golden and crisp.
  3. 3Divide the beef mince into 8 equal balls.
  4. 4Heat a heavy pan, then press each ball flat with a spatula to form a thin patty.
  5. 5Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes each side until browned and cooked through, then add cheese on top for the last minute.
  6. 6Toast the burger buns in the pan.
  7. 7Slice the tomato and onion, and shred the lettuce.
  8. 8Assemble the burgers with sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and two patties per bun, and serve with wedges.
