Slow Cooker Beef and Ale Stew

METHOD
1Toss the braising steak in the flour, salt, and pepper.2Heat the oil in a frying pan and brown the beef in batches, then transfer to the slow cooker.3Chop the onions, carrots, and celery and add to the slow cooker.4Crumble in the stock cube, add the tomato puree, thyme, bay leaf, and brown ale.5Stir everything together, cover, and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5 hours.6Stir well before serving.
